Alpha Stories Are Timeless

December 10, 2020

Nearly 2 years ago, the Alpha Volunteer Fire Company announced a new digital-centric recruitment and information media campaign that itself took almost an entire year to realize and produce.

(Click here to take a quick look back at where we were in March of 2019!)

As 2020 draws to a close, we are coming to the end of the 3-year Federal Grant we secured to fund this communications effort … and we’d like to wrap up our campaign by reminding you that our storytelling efforts have always been about sharing what it’s like to be an Alpha Volunteer Fire Company member or member of the Fire Police.

The reason we do so is simple: It is so that citizens of the Centre Region community and Penn State student body can better understand the everyday importance (and honor) it is to take the hard, rewarding steps necessary to earn – and then to wear – the Alpha “Black Hat.”

You are the people who make up our nearly all-volunteer membership. You are also the people we strive to protect and serve with distinction, every day.

Good Questions, Answered.

We’ve covered just about everything we produced in this campaign … if you’ve ever had a deep desire to “Do More. Be More.” or have been curious about what it’s like to be a member of the Fire Company or Fire Police—it starts by asking a few questions and then learning more.

Here are the video answers to common questions we’ve received … followed by the video that tells the story of Alpha training.
