On April 1, We Invite You To Reflect A Little On Becoming An Alpha Volunteer

March 28, 2019

It’s no joke—on April 1 throughout the Centre Region across television, radio, and interactive channels, our community will finally get its first look at the new “Reflections” recruitment campaign from the all volunteer Alpha Fire Company and Fire Police.

It’s taken us nearly a year of collaboration with our long-time local agency to research, plan, concept, write and then develop and produce the media that hits the airwaves next week, but one thing is for certain: it’s unlike anything we’ve ever tried.

And it’s LIKE everything we’ve ever tried, too.

For Over 10 years, Alpha Fire Company Communications Have Featured Our Actual Volunteers.

The Federal Grant we secured to fund three years of digital-centric recruitment efforts was something we took seriously.  We knew going in this campaign had to offer communications we’ve never focused heavily on before in the interactive space.

But we also knew that the backbone of our messaging (always an anchor in our communications) was clearly demonstrating that Alpha volunteers come from the ranks of our own community. We are men and women of all ages and backgrounds, who work widely different jobs and have distinctly different lives.

Where our fresh funding and our proven message merge is within the Fire Company itself. Once here, our members become the reflections of what’s best in all of us.

For the first time ever, we’re taking you inside that experience.

Stay Tuned For Our TV Commercials. On Line Film. Radio Ads. Digital Ads. Video Teasers. And More.

Here are some “behind the scenes” looks at what it took to produce our campaign, using real-life volunteer Alpha Firefighters and members of the Fire Police.

We used the main station as an interview studio in between fire calls, and spent several days (and nights) across many months shooting live training footage at the Center County Public Training Center in Bellefonte.  The message is both simple and memorable wherever and however you see it—on TV, on a computer, while using your phone, or listening to the radio or streaming music: See if you have what it takes to become a member.

The real heroes of our communications are our members themselves—who gave selflessly of their time and their perspective to provide unique insights into what it takes to become an Alpha “Black Hat” or member of the Fire Police.

We Can’t Wait To See What You Make Of Our New Campaign.

So after months of research, planning, creative development and a series of marketing documents and emails thick enough to choke a donkey…

followed by months of production logistics, film shooting, original music production, voice recording and editing…

all tucked into the schedule of an active, diverse 100+ member volunteer fire company handling nearly 1,400 calls a year, not including scheduled event management and community support…

…we can honestly tell you we can’t wait for April Fool’s Day.

And like always? We hope our efforts encourage you to click, call or stop by the station to discover what’s so special, and so enduringly amazing, about the members of the Alpha Volunteer Fire Company.
