Sneak Peek: The New Alpha Volunteer Fire Company Media Campaign

In the spring of 2018, the Alpha Volunteer Fire Company embarked on our third intensive collaboration with a local branding and advertising agency to help us continue to “get the word out” about the remarkable and often-life changing benefits of becoming an Alpha Volunteer. The process we went through to determine the communications that will roll out as a full campaign in early 2019 was a lot of fun and hard work; combining our ever-present need to recruit and retain motivated go-getters of all ages to our company, with our desire to remain current and connected to our potential audience though digital and traditional advertising.

We Can’t Wrap Up The Alpha Experience In 2 Minutes. But We’ll Try.

Our challenge was (and always is) telling a full story of Alpha in a way that showed the incredible depth and breadth of skills and training each of our members receives, while also showing the remarkable diversity of our membership. We’re an intriguing group of local individuals that ranges from age 18 to 81 and everywhere in between: men and women from all walks of life—students, business owners, public servants, executives and more—volunteering to work side by side for the common good of Centre Region

This Is Where The Idea Of “Training For Life: An Alpha Mini Movie” Came From.

If you’ve followed us on Facebook or have frequented our blog articles over the last 6 months, you’ve seen a slightly new approach to the way we’re telling stories and writing articles. We’re trying to give our audience an unvarnished and honest “inside look” at the day-to-day life of an Alpha Volunteer. What’s next for us is a new media campaign (in case you wondered about the pictures) that will dig a little deeper into what it takes to be an Alpha, by producing a brief “insider” video that combines an overview of Alpha Fire Company training, with the first-person viewpoints of actual Alpha members. If you look at our past commercials, you’ll see that this is natural and needed evolution for our communications—media that can be shared more frequently and powerfully on-line while still having an impact on TV and radio. From the video and image material we document in our longer training video, we’ll be producing a new (really cool) TV commercial, new radio, a whole new digital campaign that will include bite-sized stories we can share for years to come. We can’t wait to share it with you in 2019!
